Service Notes Our aim is to enable children of all ages with high learning potential to grow in confidence, thrive and achieve social, emotional and academic fulfilment. This includes children and young people: * With exceptional abilities * Who have the ability to achieve; but who, for whatever reason, are not achieving their potential * Who are dual or multiple exceptional (gifted with special educational need or disability) * Who are profoundly gifted (approximately 0.01% of children) We achieve this in the following ways: * By working directly with families and professionals to help them support children with high learning potential * By working with the children and young people to enthuse them, challenge them and to encourage their friendships with like-minded peers We help to support thousands of children around the country and we hope that we will be able to support you, whether you are a child or young person, a parent, carer or a professional. Our Values Our aim is to make significant differences to the quality of life for children and young adults with high learning potential and their families and to combat some of the difficulties and fears these children face. We believe in: * An appropriate and challenging education for every child and young person * The importance of parents/carers as full partners in the child’s education * Supporting teachers in their desire to better understand the complex needs of children with high learning potential * Developing the skills and confidence of parents/carers to support their children * Supporting professionals to meet the needs of children with high learning potential and their families * Building constructive partnerships that serve the best interests of children with high learning potential * Raising awareness about and advocating for children with high learning potential Our work with children and young people, parents and carers, professionals and schools has developed from the needs of those we support and provision available in educational and health services. Our work is broadly divided into: * Intensive support for children and their families * Advice, training and consultancy for schools * Advice and training programmes for professionals All of these services are outlined in the relevant sections of this website and via the links provided.
