Service Notes Safer Neighbourhoods are the internal Community Safety Team of North Lincs Council . What We Do? The role of Safer Neighbourhoods is to provide a link between agencies and work together to reduce crime and disorder. We co-ordinate multi agency crime reduction projects and plans in response to community concerns. We support work to reduce domestic abuse; we also operate an antisocial behaviour team and manage the process to identify and work with offenders and victims. Our aim is to create a safer, stronger and more resilient North Lincolnshire. We do this by: Collating information from a broad range of agencies and the community about crime, disorder and substance misuse in order to prioritise issues and target resources. Devising the Joint Strategic Analysis Document which feeds into the Community Safety Partnership Plan. Engaging with hard to reach communities and supporting community cohesion. Empowering communities to take a proactive role and take responsibility for local actions. Encouraging residents to establish Neighbourhood Watch Groups and other crime prevention watches in their local areas. Services We Offer? Crime Prevention visits – Ensuring residents feel safe and that their property is secure. Crime Prevention Products – These are given out free of charge where appropriate. Neighbourhood Watch – Encourage and support groups to prevent crime and disorder. Crime Prevention Talks on request. Organise and attend drop-in sessions jointly with Humberside Police to engage with residents and provide useful information. Partner Agencies We Work With One of the roles of Safer Neighbourhoods is to provide a link between agencies and work together to reduce crime, disorder and substance misuse. These agencies include Humberside Police, North Lincolnshire Council, Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, Registered Social Landlords, Police and Crime Commissioner, the National Probation Service, Community Rehabilitation Company and the National Health Service. We also play an active role, facilitating responses to crime and disorder issues at the Neighbourhood Action Teams (NAT) which are held in each of the 17 wards of North Lincolnshire and chaired by the local elected member and attended by key members of the community. These are not open meetings to members of the public unless you represent a community group.
