Service Notes PIP (Parents Involvement and Participation) are an independent forum of volunteer parents or carers of children who have disabilities and or special education needs. We are able to offer a friendly face, a listening ear, support and a voice to parents and carers in North Lincolnshire . Are you the parent carer of a child or young person with a special educational need or disability? If the answer is yes then have you thought of joining the North Lincs PIP (Parents involvement and Participation) Forum to get support from other parents who get what you are going through and to have your voice heard? *We are families helping families. *We are all parents with a child or children with Special Education needs and or Disability, SEND. *Our children and young adults range from birth to age 25. *Some have a diagnosis from birth or an early age, others spend years investigating, resulting in late diagnosis or diagnosis still pending. *Some children have an education, health and care plan, EHCP if required. *Some families are eligible for Disability living allowance, DLA or Personal Independence Payment, PIP and others are not eligible. * We are all volunteers working together to help and support each other. *We meet at informal, weekly coffee mornings around North Lincolnshire. *There are Parent forums all over the UK, 152 in total. * We meet regularly at regional and national meetings to discuss issues which affect our children with SEND. * We work closely with the local authority and produce events in coproduction at various times of the year. *We direct parents to the Local Offer website where they will find all the contact and information available to families with a child with SEND. * We hold an Annual General Meeting, AGM and an Annual Parent Conference * As a Forum we work to enable better access to information about services and to improve channels of communication between services, professionals, parents and carers.
