Referral Open access – professionals and family or the young person can contact ASET regarding a referral. This will be followed by a telephone consultation in the first instance. There may then be a child focussed assessment and intervention and consultation with family. For schools there is usually an expectation that the ASET toolkit process has been completed prior to referral.
