Kingsway Children’s Centre is a full day care centre on campus registered for 65 children from 5 months to 8 years.
All practitioners working in the centre are highly qualified with a strong commitment to continued professional development. Qualifications of practitioners range from Level 3 in Childcare to Learning and Development to Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies.
We offer the 3/4 year old universal 15 hours funding and the 30 hours, extended entitlement for children who are eligible.
We also offer the 2 year old funding to children who are eligible.
In August 2015 after an Ofsted inspection the centre was awarded ‘Outstanding’ for a second time as was previously given this status in 2011. The centre is the only full day care (5 months – 5 years) provider in North Lincolnshire to achieve the consecutive grade of ‘Outstanding’.
Ofsted 2015 stated “Staff have excellent knowledge and understanding of how children play, learn and develop. They guide children’s learning exceptionally well with outstanding teaching strategies, precise assessments and planning for individual children”.
The centre has won North Lincolnshire’s ‘Nursery of the Year’ award in 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2010 which was voted by the children’s parents. The centre is now undertaking further programmes of quality improvement such as “Achieving Early and Basic Skills quality mark” to ensure children are given the best start in life.
After an inspection by North Lincolnshire Council’s Food Standards Agency, the centre was awarded the highest food hygiene rating scheme (5 stars) for food hygiene practices.
Due to popularity of the Nursery, places are taken very quickly – particularly for babies and two year early education funding – so we advise you to contact us early if you think you will need our services.

We offer 30 hours funding places between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm.

Kingsway Children’s Centre is a full day care centre on North Lindsey College campus registered for 90 children from 5 months to 8 years. The centre has designated parent parking which allows for easy drop off and collection of children. All rooms are on one level therefore making easy access for wheelchairs, standing/walking frames, hoists etc. All rooms have access to the outdoor environment to facilitate free flow play. In addition the centre can utilise other college facilities such as the dance studio, air cabin, small animal unit, wooded area, hairdressing, events centre, library etc.

The centre has excellent links with other professionals/agencies and has recent experience in completing referrals such as Speech and Language, Education Psychologist, Early Help and EHC assessment (Education and Health Care needs assessment). All practitioners working in the centre are highly qualified with a strong commitment to continued professional development. Qualifications of practitioners range from Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development to Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status. Ofsted also stated “The high levels of qualified staff together with exceptional teaching practice, has a positive impact on the learning experiences provided for children. Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language is exceptional.”
The centre has two designated SEN co-ordinators as well as other practitioners who have had many years’ experience working with children with additional needs and disabilities. Ofsted confirmed “There is excellent two-way communication, which helps promote continuity in children’s care and learning. Parents and staff share the targets set for their child’s learning and development, and staff offer suggestions to help support these at home.”
