The pre school is in a central position within the Lincoln Gardens estate with close links to the local primary school. We provide sessional day care for children aged 2 to 4 years. Sessions run between 9.15am and 3.15pm. The cost of attending is currently £7.00 per hour. The pre school offers 2 and 3 year funding and also 27.5 hours of the 30 hour funding. The setting was awarded an OUTSTANDING inspection from OFSTED in March 2022. Staff turn over is very low and the team is qualified to a good level, 3 members are qualified to a level 6 and 1 to a level 5 and the others at a level 3. All staff members have sound knowledge of child development and the EYFS. The community centre in which the pre school is based has 2 good sized rooms with large outdoor areas, one being free flow for the children attending. All staff regularly attend training for their own professional development and also statutory training. the setting works closely with other agencies when necessary. The children who attend a full day bring a pack up, however, the setting does supply a healthy snack in the morning of toast with a drink of milk or water. Lincoln Gardens Pre-school can offer:
- An accessible and secure environment which enables the children to achieve the best possible outcomes whilst at the pre-school.
- A graduated approach to SEN. Assess-plan-do-review.
- A trained special educational needs co-ordinator with basic Makaton training.
- Key person will be changed as and when required e.g. if child is not bonding well.
- Friendly, knowledgeable staff who engage with parents daily, using parents information and views to enhance provision.
- Highly qualified staff, five with level 6 (BA honours in childrens services, one with level 5 (foundation degree in childrens services, and three staff with level 3 (NVQ).
- A pro-active approach.
- EYFS framework assessment of all children to ensure progression.
- Staff who attend training to enhance the CPD.
- Additional transition time, both into the setting and from setting to school.
- Support from outside agencies such as speech and language therapy and the early years team from the local authority.
- Portage, Educational preparation unit and LCDC.
- Early intervention and parent involvement from the first time any concern is noted.
- Any reasonable adjustments to enable children with a disability to access the setting (Equality Act 2010).
- Ability to request an Education, Health and Care needs assessment if required.
