Service Notes The first few years of a child's life are the most important. The EYFS principles cover a child's development from birth to the end of their first (reception) year at school. It describes how staff should work with children and their families to support their learning and development. This includes how your child should be kept safe and cared for and how everyone involved can ensure that a child achieves the most that they can in their early years. It promotes the diversity of individuals and communities is valued and respected and that no child or family is discriminated against. All Early Years Providers must adhere to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice 2014 (revised January 2015) to ensure inclusive practice. The Early Years Team 0-5 provide: * Support to enable Early Years Providers to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage 0-5 years and all relevant statutory duties * Support, advice and training to the private, voluntary and independent (PVI) early years childcare workforce * A range of Continuous Professional Development opportunities in regards to SEND and Inclusion for the Early Years workforce * Support to providers through their quality improvement processes * Targeted support to Early Years Providers to address areas for identified improvement * A range of practical ideas and resources which are available to loan
