Other Information At Winteringham under Fives we provide sessional day care (Monday and Tuesday 9.15-3.15 and Wednesday 9.15-12.15) for children aged 2years-5years term time only. We run from the Village hall in the rural location of Winteringham. We use a large open plan room all on one level and have a fully enclosed outdoor play area. Our staff team have many years experience working with children. We aim to provide a rich and stimulating environment where children are happy and safe and excited to play and learn. We pride ourselves on our strong partnership with parents and carers and other agencies. Our small staff team are all qualified to level 3 and are trained in paediatric first aid .

Winteringham Under Fives is an inclusive provider and we welcome children with special educational needs and disabilities and their families. Our setting is based at Winteringham Village Hall. We have a large, open plan room with a fully enclosed outdoor play area. We have recently made adjustments to accommodate a child with a visual impairment and in the past have worked with children with a range of needs. Our session times are Monday to Friday 9.30-12.30 term time but we are flexible within these times to suit individual children and families. The child’s needs are at the centre of our practice and we strive to form strong relationships with our children, parents and carers, offering support and guidance every step along the way. We have a proven record of working with outside agencies e.g. health/education. We have regard to the new SEND Code of Practice operating a graduated response. A copy of Winteringham Under Fives SEN policy is provided for parents to read in their welcome pack. Our named SENCO, has many years experience working with children with additional needs. Our SENCO attends local authority training in SEN . Our staff team have completed training in different areas tailored around individual children e.g. makaton, visual impairment. We support our children and families with transition ensuring good communication and sharing of information. We personalise support to individual children and their families. Parents are welcome to stay with their child until they feel the child is settled and secure. We have good links with our feeder schools and pass on assessment records and reports.
