Other Information To ensure continued quality improvements within the nursery a mission statement and nursery aim was developed: Peekaboo Day nursery offers full day care provision for children from birth to five years old in a warm, welcoming, homely environment, specifically designed to meet the needs of the children. We are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, offering full or half day sessions all year round, and are open on all Bank Holidays, except for the Christmas Bank Holiday days. We try to ensure that childcare is affordable by actively engaging with all initiatives available for parents. These include tax free childcare schemes, 2 year old funded places, 15 hours early education funding and 30 hours funded childcare, for families who meet the government criteria for each of these. The nursery is situated in a lovely little bungalow in Bottesford, Scunthorpe in a main road position, with a bus stop right outside the door. We are in walking distance from the local infant and junior school, and two sessional pre-schools. A carefully selected team of highly qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioners care for children, offering fully inclusive, quality play and development opportunities that meet each child’s individual needs. We are supported by a range of outside agencies offering us guidance and support such as the Local Authority. We are committed to the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage which includes building and maintaining positive relationships with parents, carers and anyone else involved with the child, including other settings attended, allowing us to work in true partnership to ensure the needs and safety of each child are met. Our open communication system is in place to ensure parents, children and visitors are able to express their needs, including compliments and concerns. To safeguard and promote children’s welfare, we are committed to ensure all staff are rigorously vetted and follow Local Safeguarding Children’s Board procedures in the event of a concern about a child. Any child who is eligible for government funding is welcome at Peekaboo, and we support all families in gaining the best available package of funding to keep their personal fees as low as possible.

Special Needs Caters for children with special needs.
Our nursery is fully inclusive and offers care and education for all families and children under statutory school age. Our named special educational needs and disability co-ordinator is Sarah Fowler, who is also the nursery quality officer. Our building is all on one level assuring access for all. We believe that every child has potential to thrive, and work on an individual basis with each and every one of them to ensure their learning and development requirements are catered for and that subsequently they make good progress in their learning and development given their starting points.
