Fieldview Day Nursery offers full day care in Barton Upon Humber and is registered for 90 children providing high quality care and education for children from aged from 6 weeks to 4 years. The setting is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am until 6:00pm for 51 weeks of the year, with the exception of all public bank holidays. Fieldview Day nursery has a large car park, a babyroom including separate area for non- mobile or younger babies, a toddler room, and pre-school room all on one level, all with access to our spacious decking and garden area with an adjoining field. The building/ garden has full access for wheelchairs and does include a disabled toilet and changing facilities. We also have an Out of School Club which offers the same inclusive practice and is situated at Barton St Peters School in a mobile unit, with access to the playground and field. The Out of School Club has a ramp access up to the door entrance. Fieldview Day Nursery is dedicated to creating a fully inclusive environment where all children and their families feel welcomed, valued and treated as a part of the Fieldview family. We pride ourselves on listening to and working in partnerships with all our families. Fieldview Day Nursery has 2 newly appointed SENCO’S with the support of the manager who have had over 16 years’ experience as a SENCO who has an extensive knowledge of child development and ensuring children are identified early, and are offered the correct support needed to be able to progress within their own individual learning and development throughout their time at Fieldview, also through transitions to other settings or Primary Education. Alongside this Fieldview works with guidance from the SEN (Special Educational Needs) Code of Practice, and through attending regular updates from the Local Authority. The SENCO’s co-ordinate with all practitioners within the setting, alongside parents in open and honest conversations, sharing of information (in line with confidentiality & data protection), writing individual plans, modelling activities, and signposting along with referring to agencies that may be able to offer more support for both child and family. Fieldview will always speak to parents regarding development/ behaviour and ensure parents are treated as equals in their child’s learning and development at Fieldview. Fieldview also has a practitioner who has experience of Early Helps in supporting children and families, and will work in partnership with agencies and other settings to ensure identified individual needs can be met. Children and families we have supported throughout their journey at Fieldview have had a range of individual needs such as global developmental delay, epilepsy, Behavioural difficulties, medical conditions, Speech and Language, and children with English as Additional Language, and many more. We have worked alongside the Education Preparation Unit, Educational Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Portage, Health Visitors, and FASST. Alongside applying for appropriate funding needed to support the child and family. All practitioners work in partnership with agencies more so children and their families and are highly qualified, with qualifications ranging from the Early Year’s Professional Status to a Level 2 in Childcare and Education. We are a strongly committed team who strive to further our own professional development and implement skills and knowledge learnt/ experienced within practice. We share our skills with parents and support with consistency with plans and strategies in the home setting. We also ensure any student or volunteer are aware of all our policies and procedures and are supported themselves throughout their time at Fieldview Day Nursery. We guarantee to support families and their children to achieve the best possible outcomes whilst at Fieldview, furthermore for their journey to other settings or into Primary Education in preparation for the wider community.
