About Little Owls Scunthorpe South
Other Information At Little Owls we aim to provide a safe and secure environment which is inclusive to all children and their families that access our Nurseries. At Little Owls all practitioners actively promote a warm secure relationship with all children in the setting with the individual needs of each child being assessed and catered for in partnership with parents/carers. At Little Owls we have many ways of providing this reassuring atmosphere, but a key factor for most young children is building a relationship with, or attachment to, the people who are caring for them. As it is hard for children to come into a new setting and make several attachments at the same time, at Little Owls we help the children separate from their parents by providing a key worker system Through these partnerships we recognise that all children need to feel valued Children tend to feel more reassured when they know what to expect. This means that routines and consistency are important in each area of the nursery. Therefore, our routines are flexible, but are structured enough for our children to be able to anticipate what is likely to happen next. Frequent staff meetings and policies ensure that we work together in a consistent way so that children in our care feel secure within the nursery environment. All children are treated as individuals and we strive to fulfil the needs of the children and their parents/carers at the nursery. At Little Owls we comply and adhere to The SEND Code Of Practice 2015 • Children and Families Act 2014 (Part 3) • Equality Act 2010 • Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) • EYFS. Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the early years is of paramount importance. We ensure early action is taken to identify and support children with SEND and/or emerging needs through Early help and the support of other agencies.
