Other Information
Yaddlethorpe Pre-school provides sessional and full daycare 9.00am – 3.30pm, five days per week with breakfast club from 8.00am – 9.00am each morning for 38 weeks each year. Sessions are reserved on a regular long term basis but where available can be taken as and when needed. We meet in Bottesford Village Hall, which is at the heart of Bottesford and next door to the local school. Several other schools are a walk or a short drive away. The hall has a car park with ample parking for our users. There is easy access with a large open plan play space all on one level. Disabled facilities allow us to be fully inclusive to those with mobility challenges.
We are an inclusive setting and follow the SEND Code of Practice, the Equality Act and the EYFS which are embedded in our policies and procedures.
We offer up to15 hours or up to 30 hours funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds. To find out if your child is eligible visit childcarechoices.gov.uk. Funded hours can be used for any of the hours that we offer including the breakfast club. Breakfast and a snack mid morning and mid afternoon are included. All non-funded hours are charged at our current rate.
Our bright spacious play room offers designated areas for children to play, learn and explore and is planned to maximise the learning opportunities for the children in all 7 areas of learning. Activities include: mark making, painting, workshop, dough, messy play, role play, puzzles, reading and more… with space for the children to move about freely and safely. The children are able to free flow from the indoor play room to our outdoor play area, which has a hard surface area for riding bikes and scooters and a woodland garden for exploring nature, experiencing different weather, planting and growing, sand and water play, balancing and climbing. A mud kitchen provides endless opportunities for experimenting and being creative. Children are able to explore and take risks in a safe well supervised environment.
Our team of practitioners are highly qualified and are committed to continually up-dating their knowledge. All have a current first aid certificate and specialises and support others in different areas such as SEND, Safeguarding Children, Behaviour, Literacy, Boys Play and Outdoor Play.
Robust safeguarding and security procedures ensures the safety and welfare of the children.
We are committed to working with parents and carers to provide the best care and opportunities for each unique child. Every child is designated a key person who works with the parent to ensure a tailored programme of learning for that child and who helps and supports the child through transitions and settling-in periods.
We want each child’s experience at pre-school to be enjoyable and fulfilling so that when they leave us to move on they are confident and competent learners.

We believe that everyone should be treated equally and that every child is unique and has the right to good quality care and education by qualified, caring, enthusiastic, skilled and committed practitioners. We achieve this by working in partnership with families and by providing a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment that gives each child a wealth of new experiences and encourages all children to develop their full potential to prepare them for the years ahead.
At Yaddlethorpe Pre-School we comply with the SEND Code of Practice January 2015, our clear comprehensive policies and procedures for children with special educational needs and disabilities reflect our commitment to inclusive practice for all children and their families.
Children are supported using the ‘Graduated Approach’ to assess, plan, do, review in order to identify emerging needs and support progression in learning and development. Our experienced SEND co-ordinator attends regular training and updates and works closely alongside our team of experienced, caring, qualified practitioners to support children and their families. Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs and disabilities has allowed us to build up a positive relationship with other childcare settings, professionals and agencies involved with children to provide continuity of care.
Wherever practical, reasonable adjustments will be made and hours and sessions are flexible where possible to meet the individual needs of children and their families. A varied curriculum provides the children with a voice to express their own needs and feelings which shape our practice for the unique child. Resources and equipment reflect children’s individual level of development and needs.
Practitioners value parent’s knowledge on their child and believe sharing of information and working together is paramount to ensure the best outcomes for their child.
